Germanium Glass For Infrared Optical Systems, Thermal Imaging Cameras, Night Vision Equipment
Infrared glasses - Germanium glasses (Chalcogenide glasses) have excellent optical transmission and low thermal variation in refractive index and dispersion. In the 1-14um range, germanium glass has no thermal dispersion, making it easier to design colour-corrected infrared optical systems. It is also ideal for applications incorporating other infrared materials. Germanium glass can be used for windows, infrared optical lenses (spherical and/or aspherical), prisms and other optical components.

Germanium glass can be used in infrared optical systems such as thermal imaging cameras, night vision equipment, night vision weapon sights, infrared spectroscopy, etc., as well as in simple infrared systems such as pyrometers, automotive applications, sensors, communication and messaging, and other infrared optical systems. The quality of the products follows the German DIN standard "DIN EN ISO 9001:Revision 2000". Each glass solution is tested for refractive index and transmittance.
